Professional Philosophy
Training at one of the largest and busiest hospitals in the country has given me a unique perspective in the management and treatment of orthopaedic injuries. I have seen and treated an incredibly wide array of orthopaedic pathology. I am a firm believer in customizing my treatment to suit the individual needs of each patient while providing superior clinically proven care. We all have busy lives, and busy schedules. Being a mother of three, I understand people's obligations to their work and their families. I use surgical intervention as the last resort, only when conservative treatment has failed.

Following my five years of general orthopaedic training, I spent one year doing fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery. It was also during this year that I was on staff as a Trauma attending at Los Angeles County Medical Center. This experience has proven to be extremely beneficial. Since joining Scripps Memorial Hospital in 1999, I have dedicated my time and training to participating in both Hand Surgery and Trauma Surgery call, because I believe in offering my experience to the community I serve. In doing so, I was elected the Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery for Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla in 2007.

My orthopaedic practice is extremely fulfilling, I enjoy meeting new patients and becoming a part of their lives. I enjoy hearing their stories, and understanding their problems. Communication and mutual respect is the foundation of any medical practice, and this is what I strive for as I practice the "Art of Medicine".
