Dr. Rickards is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon. She received her medical training at the University of Southern California. At Los Angeles County Medical Center, one of the largest and busiest trauma centers in the country, Dr. Rickards completed her orthopaedic training. From there, Dr. Rickards was accepted into the renowned Boyes Hand Fellowship. Dr. Rickards is now in private practice at Girard Orthopaedic Surgeons and is the acting Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla.

With board certification from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Rickards brings over 20 years of medical expertise to her practice. Dr. Rickards received her medical degree from the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine, in 1993. She then completed a general surgical internship and an orthopaedic surgical residency at USC Medical Center, one of the country’s largest and busiest trauma centers, finishing her residency in 1998. Dr. Rickards pursued a fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery to further specialize at the prestigious Joseph H. Boyes Hand Fellowship in Los Angeles, completing it in 1999.

 

Along with the rest of the Girard team, Dr. Rickards is dedicated to using advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques. Her philosophy prioritizes patient safety, rapid recovery, and the best possible outcomes, helping patients return to daily activities swiftly and confidently.
